Spider-Man (2002) follows the story of student Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) who, after being bitten by a genetically altered spider, gains superhuman strength and other spider-like abilities. He vows to use his abilities to fight crime and the looming threat of the evil Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe).

In Spider-Man 2 (2004), when a failed nuclear fusion experiment results in an explosion that kills his wife, Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina) is transformed into Dr. Octopus, a cyborg with deadly metallic tentacles. Doc Ock blames Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire) for the accident and seeks revenge.

Spider-Man 3 (2007) continues the story of Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire), who now possesses a black alien suit that takes control of him, not only giving Peter greater powers but also bringing out the dark side of his personality. Peter must overcome the suit's influence as two supervillains, Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) and Venom (Topher Grace), rise up to destroy him and everyone he loves and cares about.

Bonus: Venom, a fictional character appearing in comics published by Marvel Comics, is Spider-Man's primary enemy and rival. The character is an alien symbiote with an amorphous, liquid-like form that survives by bonding with a host, usually human. Eddie Brock is chosen by the alien and, coupled with Brock's hatred for Spider-Man/Peter Parker, becomes a powerful rival for the hero.
